Sobre a urgência de decolonizar a história da arquitetura moderna brasileira

Resumo

Passado quase um século da amarração moderno/ colonial articulada por Lucio Costa nos anos 1930, é urgente perceber que tal relação é muito mais profunda e muito mais assustadora do que reza nossa cartilha historiográfica. Todo o projeto da modernidade estava enraizado na colonialidade: desmatamento, holocausto ameríndio, mão de obra escrava ou semi-escrava, monocultura latifundiária, exportação de bens primários, assentamentos informais e repressão policial. É chegada a hora de decolonizar a análise e a narrativa da arquitetura brasileira e isto não implica descartar ou nem mesmo diminuir a potência criativa do discurso moderno/colonial articulado por Lucio Costa, mas perceber e enfrentar o lado escuro de tal narrativa, a saber o alto grau de colonialidade inerente a esta construção intelectual.
